Last year Senior Nutrition Program of SLO County served and delivered nearly 170,000 meals to lunch sites and homebound seniors throughout SLO County. This would be impossible without 200 volunteers dedicated to this important community service.
We are always looking for additional volunteers to help at our lunch sites or to deliver meals to homebound seniors in communities from Nipomo to Paso Robles and Los Osos to Cambria.
Our volunteers generally commit one to three hours one day of the week. This small commitment by volunteers allows us to continue to serve more than 25 delivery routes. With your help we hope to start new routes for those seniors still on our waiting list.
Please call us at 805-541-3312 if you are interested in one of the positions listed below.
Delivery Driver
We have 29 routes in communities from Nipomo to Paso Robles and Los Osos to Cambria.
We ask our volunteer drivers to commit to one day a week for approximately one to two hours depending on the location of the route.
Drivers must be at least 18 years old, have a reliable car, a valid driver's license and insurance.
Dining Room Attendant
There are 10 lunch sites located around the county that help heat, pack and serve meals to our clients 5 days a week.
Volunteers assist with packing food, serving seniors, cleaning up and sometimes with paperwork.
These positions require a commitment of 1 day a week for 1 and a half hours.
